The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been notified that its application for support from the Cultural Recovery Fund has been successful. The grant will support the Orchestra’s wide-ranging work in education, social inclusion and community engagement – as well as its UK-wide performance programme. The Orchestra’s mission is to enrich lives at both a national and grassroots level and the grant will help the RPO to play an active and wide-ranging role in helping the country to rebuild after the pandemic – and for the arts to make a vital cultural and economic contribution to society at large.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the Royal Albert Hall for a series of three online concerts with Music Director Designate Vasily Petrenko at the helm, as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra today publishes its report on engagement with orchestral music in 2020. The national research, coupled with views from industry partners and anecdotal feedback from players and audiences, was based on a survey of over 8,000 people in the UK (nationally representative) carried out at each stage of lockdown in the UK: pre-pandemic, during the first lockdown, emerging from lockdown, and following the news of the arrival of the vaccine.
