88% of Brits fear the community impact of losing music and arts venues

With only 24% of British adults saying they have local access to live orchestral music – and less than one in five having access to schools that offer music education for their children – the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) today announces a new 2025–26 season of concerts outside London. The new season will see the Orchestra perform 24 concerts across 10 towns and cities – including Hull, Northampton, Crawley, Reading, Bristol, Gateshead, Nottingham, Warwick, Guildford, and Aylesbury,

A composition that went missing for 75 years. Only fully unearthed in 2019, this is how Florence Price's Piano Concerto in One Movement was made, lost and rediscovered.

Born in Arkansas in 1887, Florence Price (née Smith) was the first African-American woman to be recognised as a symphonic composer and have a composition played by a major orchestra.

On Saturday 14 June, musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined students from Brent Music Service’s Junior Musician of the Year competition for a day of masterclasses focused on solo performance technique, in conjunction with the Orchestra's Community and Education team, RPO Resound.
