We got the chance to speak to Music Director Vasily Petrenko about the true inspiration behind Rachmaninoff’s haunting Isle of the Dead, how Scriabin’s philosophy fuelled his ecstatic and beautiful Symphony No.3, 'The Divine Poem', and our anticipation ahead of the UK premiere of Composer-in-Association Joe Hisaishi’s new piece, The Border (Concerto for Three Horns and Orchestra).
