Can you imagine a society without live music? A few years ago, we didn’t have to imagine. 

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has weathered plenty of storms in its eight decades. When the COVID-19 pandemic separated our musicians from our audiences, we were reminded to never take them – or music – for granted. 

That has only renewed our determination to involve as many people as possible in our work. We firmly believe that cost shouldn’t be a barrier to anyone joining us on our journey. Your support can help ensure those who might not normally be able to afford a concert ticket can still experience the brilliance and passion of our performances. Your support means we can reach more people through our flagship RPO Resound programmes – improving health and wellbeing, addressing issues of societal inclusion through our music and making sure the next generation of talented instrumentalists is spotted and nurtured, wherever and whoever they are. 

But we can only continue our work with your help. 

The RPO is the only symphony orchestra that regularly performs live across the whole nation, from Gateshead to Guildford. We are proud of our entrepreneurial record, but the income we generate from ticket sales is not enough to cover the cost of our work.  

Every pound gifted to the Orchestra by our generous donors and sponsors is stretched far beyond its worth. It helps us do more of what we do, and to do it even better. 

Your help will keep the RPO excellent and will help spread that excellence even wider. It will help us change even more lives – via thrilling live music experiences, bold multimedia projects or the game-changing work done by RPO Resound.
