Sink into the melodies of Samuel Barber’s lyrical Summer Music, evoking memories of languid days in the sun and hot, expansive evenings. Feel the pulsing rhythms of Janáček’s Mladi (‘Youth’), capturing the energy and curiosity of his childhood. Be transported to the American South through Valerie Coleman’s Red Clay and Mississippi Delta, which weaves together elements of blues, spirituals and folk music to illustrate traditions close to her heart.
