Description
With powerful intensity and dazzling colour, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Vasily Petrenko, ignites a firework display of orchestral emotion. Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki performs Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.2 – a work that explores the extremes between delicate tenderness and eruptive energy. The second half features Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite (1945): music brimming with magic, light, and transformation – a fairytale-like flight from darkness into a radiant blaze of sound.
