The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by Hilary Davan Wetton and the City of London Choir for an evening featuring some of audience's most cherished choral music.

Vaughan Williams' said that his Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus were 'reminiscences' of timeless folksongs from his childhood and the three French works in tonight's programme also find the composers in contemplative moods. We hear a reflection on the past, a request for guidance from God and a peaceful, serene Requiem for the dead.

Also looking to a place beyond time and space, Vaughan Williams' Toward the Unknown Region is a soaring setting of a visionary poem by Walt Whitman.

This concert is promoted in association with the City of London Choir.

We pleased to announce that baritone James Cleverton will join us for this concert as, due to scheduling difficulties, Edward Grint is no longer able to perform.

The safety of our audiences is of paramount importance. Government guidelines and safety measures are followed at all the venues in which the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performs to ensure that you are able to enjoy the performance in a safe, comfortable environment.
