Last week we had a bittersweet moment when we said farewell to our Concerts Director, Louise Badger, as she retired following 10 years in her current term at the RPO.

Louise has been an integral part of the classical music scene for many years with an impressive career at the BBC and Arts Council England as well as her own artist management business.

Her tenure as Concerts Director covered a period of artistic excellence, including the appointment of Vasily Petrenko as our Music Director, and the RPO will be forever indebted to Louise for her steady and calm approach to steering our ship through some of the hardest times the industry has ever had to face. She did all this with the utmost compassion and respect for her colleagues and peers.

We wish her the very best for a long, very well-deserved, and happy retirement in sunny Italy.
