Join composer and conductor Howard Blake for a magical evening of just some of his stunning works. Best-known for his soundtrack to the acclaimed children’s film The Snowman, he has a lyrical gift which demonstrates an intense musicality and knowledge of the popular mind. His spine-tingling Diversions for Cello and Orchestra showcases a variety of colours and energy levels and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Each of the pieces in the evening's programme is related in some way to the life and tragic death of Princess Diana. Sleepwalking, composed in 1997, is a meditation on her life, the Piano Concerto was commissioned for her 30th birthday, and the brand new Elegia Stravagante commemorates the 20th anniversary of her death.
