Sparkling tunes infuse Beethoven’s much-loved Leonore Overture No.3 with Brahms' Symphony No.2 closing the concert with graceful melodies and a magnificently radiant brass finale.
The centrepiece of tonight’s programme is without doubt one of the most popular works ever written for the piano – Grieg’s Piano Concerto. Its dramatic opening leads into rich lyrical melodies and passages of show-stopping virtuosity, performed by Andrew Zolinsky, one of the most distinctive musical voices of his generation.
