The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is excited to have been awarded the opportunity to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge between Tuesday 2–9 December 2025, raising towards our ground-breaking Community and Education programme, RPO Resound.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funding campaign and for seven days, the Challenge will provide RPO supporters with the opportunity to have their donations matched pound for pound. We are grateful to have received Big Give Champion funding from The Reed Foundation. These pledged funds total £18,500, giving the RPO the potential to raise a total of £37,000 from the campaign week which runs from Tuesday 2 to 9 December.
We believe that everyone deserves to benefit from the life-enhancing power of great music. That’s why we are dedicated to finding imaginative ways to engage those who might not otherwise have access to a rich musical life. Through RPO Resound, we take music beyond traditional concert settings and out into communities. These programmes allow us to witness first-hand the profound impact music has on individuals and groups, including disabled adults, people with dementia or other neurological conditions, autistic spectrum condition, sensory differences, anxiety, and those with young children.
Our unique, tailor-made projects are designed to meet the needs of people from all backgrounds who would otherwise not have the chance to engage in orchestral music. We support the rehabilitation and recovery of stroke survivors through our award-winning STROKESTRA® programme. The Lullaby Project works with prisoners and refugees nationwide. Sound Sanctuary supports the wellbeing of local residents in Brent experiencing mental health challenges.
RPO donors to the Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign will have their gifts doubled, therefore every gift, no matter the size, will make twice the impact.
