Sub-Principal Trumpet

Kaitlin grew up playing the Cornet in brass bands, performing with the Jaguar Land Rover Band and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, supported by the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust.

She studied the trumpet at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama before going on to the Royal Academy of Music, and alongside her studies Kaitlin also took part in the LSO Brass Academy and the European Union Youth Orchestra.

After several years of freelancing in Orchestras across the UK, Kaitlin joined the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as Principal Second Trumpet before taking up her current position with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Alongside her orchestral work, Kaitlin enjoys teaching at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and also regularly performs with Chamber ensembles such as Septura and Onyx Brass.
