Principal Horn

Prior to joining the Royal Phiharmonic Orchestra in 2021, Alexander Edmundson was Co-Principal Horn of the London Symphony Orchestra for six years. Alex regularly performs internationally as a guest Principal Horn with various ensembles, including the Australian Chamber and London Symphony orchestras.

As a soloist, Alex has performed Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings and the complete Mozart and Strauss concertos at venues including LSO St Luke’s and Cadogan Hall. He made his concerto debut with the RPO in 2022. He is also Deputy Head of Brass and a Horn Professor at the Royal College of Music.

Alex lives in London with his wife Eve-Marie, a French cellist, and their two daughters.
