Stravinsky Petrushka

Performed by the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Peter Breiner, and recorded at BBC Television Centre, London, On Air will stream a performance of Petrushka by Igor Stravinsky from 7pm GMT on 8 December 2022.
His second complete score for the Ballets Russes which followed the success of The Firebird, 'Petrushka' premiered at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in 1911. His initial idea was for a concert piece for piano representing ‘a puppet suddenly endowed with life, exasperating the patience of the orchestra with diabolical cascades of arpeggios’.
Recorded in stunning 4K UHD Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies, the shows are The Firebird (streaming from 17 November), Petrushka (streaming from 8 December), and The Rite Of Spring (streaming from 22 December).
