The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra close this year’s King’s Lynn Festival with a programme of glorious and soul-stirring music with a programme including Elgar's deeply poignant Cello Concerto performed by cellist Bartholomew Lafollette, and Dvořák's joyful and energetic Symphony No.8.
First, lose yourself in the magical world of Mendelssohn's overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the sweeping melodies, playful woodwinds and ethereal strings will make you feel like you’ve entered an enchanted forest. Then let Elgar’s nostalgic melodies and romantic themes transport you as the music takes flight through soaring highs and stirring lows.
Closing the concert and overflowing with delightful, folk-inspired tunes, Dvořák's music never fails to make audiences smile, you'll be swept up by irresistible rhythms and leave with a euphoric sense of optimism.
