The celebrated Royal Choral Society was formed as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s official opening, and the 150-strong choir has sung there every Christmas since 1872.
The Hall welcomes the choir back to its spiritual home in 2021 with a festive programme packed full of glorious carols old and new – including traditional favourites Silent Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and O Come all Ye Faithful.
For this gala concert, the choir will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Band of the Coldstream Guards and baritone Julien Van Mellaerts – all under the baton of Royal Choral Society Music Director Richard Cooke. Beloved TV presenter, author and campaigner Baroness Floella Benjamin will provide readings of seasonal verse in between songs.
