Description

Anne-Sophie Mutter is one of those rare violinists for whom the term 'living legend' is absolutely justified. Among the most famous and admired violinists of our time, Herbert von Karajan discovered her in 1976, when she was only 13 years old, and wanted her at his side with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Accompanied by the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which under the baton of its Musical Director, Vasily Petrenko, who returns to the season after 15 years, Mutter debuts with Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, the only one he wrote for the violin. The eagerly awaited grand finale of the Lingotto Concertos culminates with Mahler's Fifth Symphony, a turning point in the Austrian composer's career that describes the inner drama of the self and the wild forces that run through it.
