Description

with conductor Ben Glassberg

The first five bars of Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony portend something mysterious and momentous. Filled with turmoil and beauty, this orchestral masterwork will leave you awestruck long after its triumphant finale in our final concert at Hull City Hall in the 2025–26 season.

The evening opens with a delightful new miniature from Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro), and Clara-Jumi Kang brings her world-class insight to Sibelius’ brooding yet passionate Violin Concerto.

Please note the change of conductor for this concert. For more information please contact marketing@rpo.co.uk

“The brilliant violin soloist Clara-Jumi Kang squeezed every last droplet out of the music... it is no exaggeration to say the entire house was totally captivated and mesmerised by Ms Kang’s performance in Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto.”
