Description

A Chinese folk music orchestral concert

Following its debut at the United Nations in 2024 and five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025, A Panorama of Hunan comes to London for a special performance at Central Hall Westminster.

This concert features the musicians of China’s renowned Hunan Song and Dance Theatre in collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, uniting Chinese traditional instruments with the rich symphonic sound of one of Britain’s leading orchestras.

Presented during the mid-Autumn season, the programme explores themes of reunion, reflection and celebration through a vibrant mix of traditional favourites, contemporary works and original compositions. Audiences will experience the distinctive sounds of instruments such as the erhu, pipa, sheng and bamboo flute, performed by acclaimed soloists and leading musicians.

Set in the historic surroundings of Central Hall Westminster, this one-night-only event offers a rare opportunity to experience Chinese folk music in a fresh and powerful new setting.

“A phenomenal and transportive performance from an incredibly talented group of musicians.”
