Join the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and star violinist Francesca Dego for an evening of beautiful orchestral music.
A regular in the Top 5 of the Classic FM’s Hall of Fame, it is easy to see why Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis is so captivating. Full of lush, expansive string playing, it will make the perfect opening for Mendelssohn’s lyrical Violin Concerto. We can expect technical fireworks from tonight’s soloist; in fact, Bachtrack said of her recent performance with the London Symphony Orchestra ‘Francesca Dego’s performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto will be one of the highlights of the season, even in this early stage of proceedings. She is a storyteller of exceptional gifts and her playing showered the audience with the delights of perfectly-judged phrasing, gloriously warm tones and a cantabile to die for.’
We end the evening with Tchaikovsky’s electrifying Symphony No. 5, a journey of fate, drama, and triumph.
