A warm southerly breeze sweeps through the palace courtyard as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents its second open-air concert in Ludwigsburg. Under the baton of conductor Lina González-Granados, and joined by violinist Leticia Moreno, the Orchestra conjures an atmospheric Spanish Night.

The evening opens in Seville, the setting of Carmen. Georges Bizet’s interpretation of a ‘Spanish’ musical language gave rise to a wealth of memorable melodies that swiftly became audience favourites. Equally dazzling is Maurice Ravel’s highly virtuosic concert rhapsody Tzigane – a thrilling showcase for Leticia Moreno’s extraordinary agility and expressive depth. She also brings radiant intensity to Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.

With excerpts from Manuel de Falla’s ballets El amor brujo and The Three-Cornered Hat and music from Copland, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra guides audiences on an exhilarating journey through the musical fireworks from the Blooming Baroque.
