This interactive performance from members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra features a special guest appearance from Trevor Brown, musician, composer and Pioneer Trojan Music Ambassador of the Windrush generation. The arrival of the ship HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury docks in 1948, bringing more than 800 passengers from the Caribbean, is a moment that shaped modern Britain.

The concert includes a new song written by Trevor to mark the 75th Anniversary of Windrush (suitable for all ages).

At the request of Brent and Camden Councils to develop activity to celebrate Windrush 75th anniversary, RPO Resound commissioned Trevor Brown to write a new Windrush-inspired song to use as a creative starting point. Trevor is a Jamaican guitarist who came to the UK at the request of Trojan Records and the Jamaican government for the development and promotion of reggae music in the UK in the 1970s. Trevor came with the band Dave and Ansell Colin, and has since played and toured with numerous high profile reggae artists (including Jimmy Cliff, Cimerons, Bob Marley, Pioneers, Toots and the Maytals, and more). Resound workshops and interactive performances will use Trevor’s new song to celebrate and explore Windrush themes with Brent and Camden residents of all ages.
