Prokofiev, Mozart and Beethoven

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will present a program with a thread of Viennese classicism for the Ljubljana Festival in Slovenia under the baton of conductor Vasiliy Petrenko, who has also been the Orchestra's Music Director since last year. The Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovšek will perform in one of the solo roles of the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E flat major by Mozart. Last year's winner of the Prešeren Fund award, Lana, after studying in Salzburg and London, has performed with some of the best orchestras in the world, such as the Marija Theater Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She will be joined by one of the most charismatic musicians of our time, the Grammy-nominated Ukrainian violist and conductor Maksim Risanov, who can otherwise be seen at some of the most prestigious international music festivals. The program will be rounded off by two symphonies: the first from the beginning of the twentieth century, which was nicknamed 'Classical' by Prokofiev, and the second, the famous Symphony No. 5 in C minor by Beethoven.
