As part of YouTube's 12 Days of Culture series, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents two performances available to view from 3pm UK time on 23 December to 5 January.
We're thrilled to be contributing to YouTube's #Showtube 12 Days of Culture series with performances conducted by our Music Director Designate Vasily Petrenko.
The first programme, which premieres at 3pm UK time, features a thrilling performance, given by the RPO and Vasily Petrenko at the Royal Festival Hall (London) of Richard Strauss' dazzling tone poem Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life).
The second programme comprises works by two English masters - Vaughan Williams' The Wasps Overture, which buzzes with zest and charm and William Walton's lively Facade Suites No.1 & 2, painting scenes that range from the comical to the fantastical in a whirlwind musical journey. This performance premieres at 5pm UK time.
