RPO Resound Online Workshops
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has been working in partnership with Brent Music Service this year to create an anthem that reflects the thoughts, views and experiences of young people in Brent. There have been anthem writing workshops in primary schools and with members of BMS ensembles.
For the final stage of the creative process, we will select 15 creative young people (aged 10-18) from Brent to collaborate with professional composer James Redwood and a group of musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Those selected will also have the opportunity to perform in a recording of the final piece.
No experience of composition is necessary, just an open mind and willingness to be creative!
The workshops will all take place online, so no travel is necessary.
The dates for the workshops are:
Workshop 1: Monday 26th October 2-4pm - Poetry/Lyric Writing
Workshop 2: Tuesday 27th October 2-4pm - Creative composition
Workshop 3: Wednesday 28th October 2-4pm - Creative composition
Workshop 4: Thursday 29th October 2-4pm - Creative composition
Workshop 5 : Wednesday 11th November 5-6.30pm - Editing/ Arranging
Workshop 6: TBC Either Wed 25th Nov or 16th (to be confirmed closer to the time). This will be the premiere of the anthem music and video.
If you are interested in signing up to this workshop fill out this form (you can also access the form via the BOOK NOW button above) by Friday the 16th of October.
You will be informed by Monday the 19th of October if your application has been successful.
