Composed in only two weeks, Mozart’s 21st Piano Concerto expresses sheer joy. The main theme of the second movement became a hit with the public then and now.
Rudolf Buchbinder always manages to find the language between Mozart’s notes, the deeper spirit of his works. Conductor Marin Alsop and the Royal Philharmonic achieve the same feat with Stravinsky’s beguiling ballet Firebird, a tale of love and sorcery.
