Join musicians and leaders from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a fun music workshop at Westminster Music Library exploring the life and compositions of Henry Purcell.

Young people aged 7-11 are invited to a creative music workshop where they will be given the opportunity to meet professional musicians, learn about a fantastic piece of music composed by a world-famous Westminster-local, and devise their very own creative responses. Following the workshop, the young people will join with a group of elderly Westminster residents who have also been exploring Henry Purcell to perform their brand new music in an intergenerational performance for family, friends and library patrons.

No musical experience is required to take part and instruments and resources will be provided, but children already playing an instrument are encouraged to bring it along.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the afternoon. Adults may join in the workshop alongside their child or take advantage of free tea and coffee in the library.
