Come and meet the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and hear amazing music in a relaxed concert that the whole family can enjoy! The 25-piece orchestra will perform a variety of music including classical masterpieces and themes from blockbuster films.
During the relaxed concert you can move about, dance, sing or just listen, and if it all gets too much there will always be somewhere to chill out. At the end of the concert you'll also be able to meet the musicians and even have a go at playing some instruments!
Orchestras Live Sound Around is presented in association with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Sunderland Empire Theatre and Sunderland Music Education Hub, and is supported by Strategic Touring Funds from Arts Council England.
About Sound Around
Sound Around is an innovative large-scale touring programme which aims to create more inclusive opportunities for up to 20,000 children and young people to engage with live orchestral music. Children from numerous schools will attend large-scale orchestral concerts, young people at special schools will host ensemble performances at their schools, and families of children with additional needs will be able to attend specially designed relaxed concerts.
