Come and celebrate St George’s Day with music by four of England’s finest composers. Opening with the triumphant sound of Walton’s celebratory Crown Imperial March, this quintessentially English sound is echoed throughout Coates’ London Suite.

In contrast, the concert features two works by Vaughan Williams, evoking images of pastoral England, through the soaring sound of the solo violin in his The Lark Ascending and in the full string orchestra in his Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. Elgar’s much-admired 'Enigma' Variations will bring the celebrations to a spectacular close.
