An evening of impassioned orchestral favourites, deeply infused with the sounds and rhythms of Spain. Bizet’s fiery Carmen and Fauré’s stately Pavane frame Rodrigo’s ever-popular Concierto de Aranjuez (Guitar Concerto), full of sunshine and performed by rising star Morgan Szymanski, under the baton of conductor Nicholas Cleobury.
Rossini’s comic opera The Barber of Seville, opens the evening with its wit and sparkle, with tonight’s finale, slowly building with its tense rhythmic climb, to reach a gigantic and rousing orchestral flare, in Ravel’s Boléro. This concert given to you by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will truly warm you up!
