The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to present the opening concert in the 2015 classical series at the Lowestoft’s Marina Theatre with a performance of Classical Favourites. Conducted by Principal Associate Conductor Grzegorz Nowak, the Orchestra opens the concert with Dvořák’s riotous and energetic Carnival Overture. Filled with bright orchestration, the Overture captures the bustle and boisterous fun of the carnival and finishes with a characteristically thrilling Dvořák finale.

The internationally acclaimed pianist, Alexandra Darisecu, joins the Orchestra for a performance of Rachmaninov’s much-loved Piano Concerto No.2 and closing the concert is Brahms’ sunny and light-filled Symphony No.2. Full of warmth and brimming with lush, joyful melodies, this Symphony is an uplifting conclusion to this springtime Opening Gala Concert.
