A silent, romantic comedy written, directed and starring Charlie Chaplin. The story follows the misadventures of Chaplin’s tramp as he falls in love with a blind girl and develops a turbulent friendship with an alcoholic millionaire.

Critics consider City Lights to be not only one of the highest accomplishments of Chaplin’s career, but one of the greatest films ever made. Critic James Agee referred to the final scene as the ‘greatest single piece of acting ever committed to celluloid’.

No stranger to film music, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has a worldwide reputation performing some of the best soundtracks ever written.
