About Lauren Bennett
First Violin
New Zealand violinist Lauren Bennett is a graduate of Yale University, obtaining a Masters degree under Syoko Aki. She also received a Bachelor of Music with honours from the University of Auckland, studying with Dimitri Atanassov and Andrew Beer.
As a chamber musician, she has won all the major competitions in New Zealand, and performed with these groups in China, the UK and the USA. As a soloist, Lauren has been a prize winner at the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition.
Before joining the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Lauren was Principal First Violin in the Auckland Philharmonia. She has also worked with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Outside of playing the violin, Lauren is an avid baker and tennis player.
