Raise the Game Up, the anthem for Manchester, was written by workshop leader/composer Alice Phelps with musical and lyric ideas coming from public workshop at Manchester Central and Newton Heath libraries, and school workshops at Briscoe Lane, St Patrick’s and St Augustine’s primary schools.

There were also public workshops in the topical setting of the National Football Museum, where the RPO and Alice were joined by several legends from women’s footballing history to share tales of playing during the sixities and seventies and help to create this anthem.
