Challenge, Emotion and Expression: Tamsin Waley-Cohen discusses life as a musician

On Saturday 18 February, Tamsin Waley-Cohen performs Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1 at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone. We took the chance to ask her a few questions about her journey as a musician and life as a professional solo artist.

Creative Composition Workshops delivered across North Buckinghamshire

In the week before the October half-term 2016, RPO Resound was delighted to partner Buckinghamshire Learning Trust Music (BLTM) to deliver an exciting project with three primary schools from across North Buckinghamshire. Pupils from Whitchurch Combined, Winslow CE Combined and Buckingham Primary Schools each enjoyed a half-day workshop with RPO Creative Leader Jason Rowland and members of the Orchestra to create their own unique group compositions inspired by Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.

New Choral Recording – Haydn: Mass In Time Of War (‘Paukenmesse’) & Nelson Mass

This December, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra releases a new recording on its own label, RPO Records, in collaboration with the City of London Choir. Undertaken as part of a well-received London concert series of Haydn's six late masses the recording, under the baton of the Choir's Artistic Director Hilary Davan Wetton, features the composer's two great settings written in response to troubled times and political disturbance.

Meet the RPO: Katherine Lacy’s views on music and Mozart

In 2017, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's exceptional Principal Clarinet, Katherine Lacy, will perform Mozart's ever-popular Clarinet Concerto accompanied by the Orchestra at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford, The Hawth Crawley, the High Wycombe Swan and the Rose Theatre Kingston, as part of the Orchestra's Regional Residency programme. Ahead of her tour, we took the opportunity to ask her a few questions about her time in the RPO and how she built her illustrious career.
