Opus 60, supported by Sir David Tang
18 February 2009
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra breaks away from the traditional concert format by offering four unique hour-long concerts in the intimate surroundings of Cadogan Hall, Sloane Square. Whether you decide to enjoy the four Opus 60 concerts in bite-size instalments or raise a glass to the whole banquet of music and food, the opportunity to hear fun, accessible music, from Mozart’s popular concertos to Schumann’s romantic symphonies, is not to be missed!
Sir David Tang
A local resident to Cadogan Hall and founder of the Shanghai Tang chain, Sir David Tang has generously offered his financial support and vision to the Opus 60 concerts.

Sir David Tang says:
“It is about time for the traditional concert format to be broken down – too many people find classical music inaccessible and, frankly, too stuffy. This series successfully does this with one-hour chunks of accessible music, spread across the evening. It’s a much more flexible approach which will hopefully encourage people who may never have dreamt of coming to a performance to cross over a concert venue’s threshold.”

The perfect classical introduction
Whether you are a classical connoisseur or this is your first time to a concert, Opus 60 breaks away from the traditional classical format with its shorter length, inexpensive ticket prices and flexible performance times, offering the perfect introduction to the music of Mozart and Schumann.

If you think you don’t have time…
Opus 60 concerts start at 7pm and 9pm and are each an hour in length, making it much easier to fit a concert into your regular evening routine. You can attend the 7pm concert straight after work, or perhaps it suits you better to have a relaxed dinner before an hour of culture with the 9pm performance.

Visit a beautiful venue on your doorstep
If you haven’t already visited the wonderful Cadogan Hall then this is your perfect chance.
