Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's RPO resound team awarded £500,000 for new education projects

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s (RPO) education team RPO resound, in partnership with Hertfordshire Music Service and Northamptonshire County Council has just been awarded £500,000 to implement and oversee significant projects working with young people within their respective communities. Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and in partnership with Orchestras Live, the RPO resound team will be targeting more than 4,000 young people over a period of one year.

Charles Dutoit appointed as new Artistic Director and Principal Conductor

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to announce the appointment of Charles Dutoit as its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor from the beginning of the 2009-2010 season. Maestro Dutoit will replace Daniele Gatti, who will step down from his post as Music Director at the end of the 2008-2009 season after thirteen years in charge of the RPO.
