MENDELSSOHN Hebrides Overture
MEDEK Cello Concerto No.1
VAUGHAN WILLIAMS Symphony No.4
This concert includes a vivid mix of styles: from the remarkable Cello Concerto No.1 by Medek, a composer who cited Nono and Stockhausen amongst his influences, to Mendelssohn’s atmospheric and dramatic Overture, inspired by a famous Scottish attraction, juxtaposed with the searing and implacable Symphony No.4 of Ralph Vaughan Williams – music that grabs by the throat and won’t let go!
This concert is supported by Internationale Stiftung zur Foerderung von Kultur und Zivilisation.
