The legendary British pianist John Lill celebrates his 70th birthday this year. Lill sprang to fame in 1970 when he won the Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition. As a leading Beethoven interpreter, his performance of the composer’s Third Piano Concerto promises to be an eye-opener.

The Orchestra performs Mendelssohn's evocative Hebrides Overture, written during the composer's visit to Scotland in 1830. The concert concludes with Dvorįk’s evergreen 'New World' Symphony. Conducting the Orchestra is Scottish-born Rory Macdonald, who has quickly established himself as one of Britain’s most talented and dynamic young conductors.
