Bizet’s Symphony in C opens with great energy and panache, and features a wistful Adagio, rustic Scherzo and effervescent Finale.
In Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, the cello and orchestra explore a theme inspired by one of the composer’s idols, Mozart.
