Tasmin Little has built a reputation as one of the UK’s foremost violinists, performing with the world’s greatest orchestras in a career which has taken her to every continent. In this season opener, she performs Bruch’s dazzling Violin Concerto No.1, a challenging work which will showcase her virtuosic abilities. Alongside this, Brian Wright leads the Orchestra for Beethoven’s glorious Fidelio Overture, Borodin’s ravishing Nocturne for Strings and Mendelssohn’s ‘Scottish’ Symphony, a vivid symphonic portrait inspired by Scotland’s mists, tempests and landscapes.
